At St Brendan’s, we teach Science so that all students can become active, informed members of society. Learning science isn’t just for future scientists; it’s for everyone to understand and think clearly about critical real-world issues like sustainability or climate change.
Our program is thorough, giving students a strong foundation in Biology, Chemistry, Physics, and Earth and Space Sciences. Importantly, we also teach students how science works—its history and the systematic process of testing ideas (hypotheses) to find the truth.
Students learn best by doing. They engage in hands-on activities, make observations, and are encouraged to ask questions, collect data, and discuss their findings. We use clear, informative texts and an explicit teaching approach to make sure every student makes secure and consistent progress in their scientific journey.
